Portability of PebblePad Assets

PebblePad is designed for life–long, life–wide learning so it is essential that you can take your PebblePad assets with you wherever you go. If you are leaving an institution or organisation where you have been working with PebblePad, there are a number of ways in which you can do this:

  • Open a Personal PebblePad account
If you have been using PebblePad at your institution and are about to graduate or leave, you are entitled to a free PebblePad account for 12 months. You can move all the assets you want to keep from your institution account to your personal account. During the 12 month period you can decide if PebblePad is a tool that you want to continue to have access to. If you decide that it is, you can then choose to purchase an ongoing account for a small annual fee.

  • Move your assets to a different PebblePad account
If you are going to different institution or organisation that also uses PebblePad you can easily move your assets from your existing account to your new account.

  • Move your assets to a different eportfolio
PebblePad has implemented both the Leap2A and the IMS eportfolio specifications which means that you can export your assets from PebblePad and import them into a different eportfolio system using the Leap2A or IMS format. These standards are still being developed and improved so some assets do not currently transport particularly well. A number of eportfolio providers are, however, involved in projects to further enhance these specifications.

  • Export you assets
All PebblePad assets can be exported as a website and saved onto disk or added to a personal web space. They retain their appearance when exported but cannot be edited outside of the PebblePad environment.
